review article in Christian Century. I couldn't tell you exactly what it means -- in fact I'm posting it here so I'll see it and I can keep thinking about it -- but I think it describes where I come from (or ought to), both theologically and politically:
Martin Marty once said that the best wisdom in the church comes from the left of the right and the right of the left—which is not the same as the middle.
