Psalms/hymns (mostly) in psalmodikon siffernoter for "Pastor Esbjorn's Singing School" workshop at Jenny Lind

D R A F T

My workshop will be one of the breakout sessions for interest groups taking part in the Founders Day celebration at Augustana Lutheran Church in Andover on Saturday, April 25. (For more information on the event in Andover, link here and follow the link at the bottom of the page.) For more tunes that can be played on the psalmodikon, see the notes I posted Feb. 24 on tunes I was preparing for a workshop at Bishop Hill, at:

All of the psalms and hymns below are in Lars-Paul Esbjorn's untitled manuscript notebook [ca. 1859-62] of sifferskrift hymns in Esbjorn Family Papers, Special Collections, Tredway Library, Augustana College. Numbers are those of Olof Wallin's 1819 psalmbook; sifferskrift from Johann Dillner's 1830 Melodierna till Svenska Psalm-bok. Sound files are included in order to help me learn the tunes.

Another psalmodikon performance, uploaded by YouTube user Gisli Olsen. The one on the left has keys -- cf. pix of Dillner's psalmodikon in Upplandsmuseet.
