I Liked Dewey Phillips broadcast. Even though it is old, it still gave a feel to how some D.J's broadcast now. He souds like he is havin fun and is really enjoying his job.. I also liked how he gave shout-outs to the people who requested the music and the music that was bieng played.
I thought that Dewey Phillips radio show was very interesting. It was completely different than anything you hear on the radio today. I believe it was about the art. Although he did throw in the advertisement about beer over and over. You obviously have to make money somehow to keep a radio station going. He sang along with the songs and sounded like he really did like them.
I feel that it was a combination for him. His passion for music drove him to play that, but he recognized the potential marketing ability of this genre of music. I believe he was a passionate opportunist!!!!!!!!!!!!
I enjoyed the broadcast by Dewey Phillips because he was very passionate about it. It makes me want to listen more and like something more when I can tell that the person putting it out there really enjoys it. I felt like it was more about the broadcast itself than the actual music. Very entertaining...
I liked Dewey Phillips' broadcast in class today...It's obvious that he was one of the first broadcasters on the radio...I see a lot of similarities between now and then; especially because he kept attention and said things to make the audience laugh or think about something...he communicated well with the audience.
My reaction is that he was entertaining, I feel that way because he kept my attention and I think it's safe to say that back in the day, he was listened to because of his personality.
It's about art...The music strikes me the most when it comes to radio broadcasting...but a lively "radio dj" is a big plus.
i don't much care for it. i don't actually listen to modern radio either. most of the music on radio today is crap in my opinion. i've heard elvis's music before but never really got into it. it seemed like the dj was mentioning products like a radio commercial does today.
I'm not sure if I liked Dewey Phillip's broadcast. There was too mush noise other than the actual song for me. Just seemed obnoxious. The only section that appealed to me was the music, it reminded me of the movies that were about the life of someone back in the "olden" days.
My over-all opinion about Dewey Phillips'was that I liked the broadcast. It was very similar to today. I think it was more about the art of the music.
I enjoyed the Dewey Phillips radio show. Its defiatly not like anything on the radio in todays world. He had fun with it and advertized beer.i would say it was about money for example, again with the advirtizing of the beer but you would have to make money some how to keep the raido show going, but i also thought it was about the art of the music as well.
I thought the broadcast was alright. Dewey seemed like he was enjoying himself and really having fun. It seemed like it was done mainly for the art, but like 2kings said, I think he saw a golden opportunity and jumped on it.
I enjoyed the Dewey Phillips radio show today. I think it was very upbeat and fun. The announcer stood out to me more than the music did. He seemed like he really enjoyed his job, and what he was doing. I do think the radio show was kindof about money, as with art. The radio show kept mentioning a type of beer, and advertising that.
I thought that Dewey Phillips broadcast was passionate and different. I listen to alot of music on radio and television and he certainly has a personality like no other. I appreciated how much he actually appreciates music.
Dewey Philips broadcast was awesome. it was very different and you could tell Dewey was really into it. it alot different than radio today because of the beer advertisement. you could tell her really loved what he did for a living.
I was absent on this day, however, i feel required to blog. Eveyone seem to like it and think he had a lot of passion in his work. Might of been older, but most enjoyed it.
